Of course it doesn't work, it is a SATA Hard Drive
There is Only one way to make it work.
You Have to buy cables, that are very expensive, and connect de PS2 Modem in Ps2 with it, and buy an Adaptador to SATA Hard Drive to be an ATA Hard Drive, and then connect. If, when you connect the Adapted HD, now ATA, to the modem, and it doesn't fit, just got some cables, and it will work fine.

This is the Only way to make a SATA Hard Drive work, but, let's think about... The price you'll pay in the VHDCI cable to connect the Network Adaptor to the PS2 is very expensive, the Adaptor to make the SATA HD work as ATA, is also very Expensive, without count the fact that maybe you'll have to buy more SATA cables, and Energy maybe too. It work, SATA CAN work, but the price you'll pay, you can buy about 2 or more ATA HDs of the same Size.

I said "Of course it doesn't work", because it's fool to make a SATA work in ps2, as I said, the price you'll pay in the Cables, Adapters, will be generally at least The Same price of the SATA Hard Drive, so you pay about 2x or more the price of the Hard Drive Sata, so it's fool.
It's better to buy a ATA of more capacibility, and pay a more cheap price.
