Modded the NA by taking the metal plate off and then taking out the 2 torx screws so that I could move the power connector over a bit more so that it would fit the western digital drive just like so many others have done on this list. Also had to cut the corner off the metal plate so that it would go back on, now with 5 screws. Formatted fine and games work. This is the second drive that has worked for me, the other was an old Maxtor 5 gig HD(also posted here)

Removing the 2 torq screws off the IDE connector on the PS2 Network adapter allows all model versions of WD200BB Western Digital HD to work. I have a 40 GB and a 60 GB, both worked.

Looking at the Network adapter from the back with the power connector on the bottom left hand side. Remove the large phillips screws and then the 2 smaller PS2 phillip power screws. Take off the sheet metal cover. Then remove and discard the 2 torq screws from the IDE connector you still have to bend/snip the metal on the on the right side of the IDE connecter slot on the sheet metal cover, the one next to the bottom right hand phillips screw, so the connector can slide the 2mm it needs to to work with the a Western Digital HD.

I just used needle nosed pliers and bent the right edge of the connector opening slightly so it did not interfere with the screw bracket. Then just place the sheet metal cover back on and reatach with the screws
