hard drive did not fit to ethernet, modified ether net to fit. Hard drive powers up ( hear it spinning) and it takes a while to load disk. then it says no hard drive detected

I had the same problem and I switched it to cable select and it foun it and formatted. I am loading games now

Just got this drive for $49 @ Fry's (with mail in rebate...) it didn't fit, had to remove aluminum backing (RF shield), removed the female power connector using a torx T6 (same size as cell phone torx screws) and then cutted that corner off from the shield and it fits perfectly. Had to set the drive to Cable Select as indicated by SMV, doesn't if set to Master. HDLoader works ok.

Yes it does indeed work after the eth has been modded and the hard drive has been put into cable select mode. You can do this by looking on the back side of the hard drive where things plugin and on the middle set of plugs, the one that isnt being used by the network adapter. Remove the plastic square thing, and then insert it onto the pins that are the farthest away from the 40pin connector. Then your good to go! :)
