| Works flawlessly. Very quiet and produces very little heat. Set jumper to CS (Cable Select) and format using HDLoader, HDAdvance, PS2 Handiness, or winhiip (choose 48 LBA format to allow full use of space). Drive says 500GB but after format of drive, I have 465GB of available space. One gigabyte is actually 1,024 megabyte (not 1000MB) so it explains why I have 465 available. I also have the 200GB Seagate ST3200822A with Linux installed and is working perfectly. After drive was format, I had 186GB available space. Seagate and Maxtor are by the same manufacture, but in my opinion, the Seagate line of HDD is superior compared to any other drive. |
