Cable select jumper setting is vertically, second from the left when viewed where the 40-pin connection is on the left, and the power is on the right. No problems with the drive whatsoever. I think this is a 5200 rpm drive, but I am not sure. Completely reliable so far with WinHIIP. It is somewhat noisy, but I think it is because I know hum that a hard drive makes. I don't think someone who doesn't know this sound would hear it. Decent drive, and easy to find cheap because they're somewhat old. I dug mine out of the trash, for example. Free FTW.
