Hard Drive Installation, Formatting, and Testing Guide

  1. Installing the drive in the PS2. It's quite easy to install the hard drive, first you of course need the network adaptor and one of the compatible hard drives you find on this site. The important bit of information here is that the hard drive jumper settings needs to be set to MASTER mode. After that is taken care of, you just plug the adaptor onto the IDE connector on the hard drive and fasten the adaptor to the back of the PS2.

If you own one of the new PStwo slimline consoles you need to install, or get someone with the soldering skills, to install the Team Xtender HD Connect adapter or the HD Combo case expansion adapter, more details here.

Or if you have a Western Digital hard drive you need to modify the adapter because the molex and IDE connectors on Network Adapter mismatches, more information here.

  2. Formatting the drive. For the PS2 to recognize the drive it needs to be formatted with a special Playstation File System (PFS). There are three programs available at the moment that can do exacly that, these are; the old PS2 HDD Tool, DMS HDD Format Tool / 48-bit and HDLoader / HDAdvance / 48-bit.

    PS2 HDD Tool

    DMS HDD Format Tool

    HDLoader

  3. Testing the drive. Note that before you can run any of these applications on the PS2 you need a way to load homebrew executables, either by using the exploit, a swap disc or install a mod chip on the PS2 circuit board. You can test the drive in a number of ways, i.e...

    • install and run games from the HDD using HDLoader / HDAdvance. If you use the HD Connect adapter you need to use WinHIIP to install games through your PC.
    • use the "HDD Install" option with HDD-enabled games, i.e Resident Evil Outbreak, Final Fantasy XI or PlayOnline. Requires ATAD-patched game ISO or compatible modchip with auto ATAD patching.
    • install the Sony HDD Utility disc on NTSC consoles. Requires compatible modchip.
    • use uLaunchELF as a filemanager for your PS2 including support for HDD, CD/DVD, Memorycards and USB pendrives.
    • use PS2Mnu-k / 48-bit to backup savegames.
    • use the DMS HDD Explorer / 48-bit to install and run applications from the HDD.
    • use DMS HDD Dump Tool / 48-bit to dump content from the CD/DVD.
    • run PGen SegaMega/Genisis, InfoNES, InfoGB and other emulator with HDD support.

There are new applications and patches coming out weekly that utilize the hard drive, keep a look at these sites for up to date information and new releases: www.eurasia.nu, www.maxconsole.net and www.ps2newz.net.

If it is brand new, then it takes virtually no time at all. If it has data on it, it may take up to 45 min.

Just some quick info for those having problems with HD loader seeing their hard drives. On most HD's the jumper is not installed for it to be a master. If you were using a slave drive with a master drive then you would install the jumper. But for this application the jumper is not installed. It is an easy mistake to make if you are not familiar with setting up hard drives....hope this helps out.

I modified the Network Adapter so that it can fit Western Digital drives. It's really easy. You have to take apart the adapter using 2 different sized Philips head screwdrivers. Take the metal shield of of the back and cut (with scissors) the corner off where the power connector sticks out. Then carefully bend the power connector up and down till it comes loose then it can slide freely left and right. Put the adapter back together and you should be able to get any IDE drive to fit.

Out of curiosity, does setting it up this way with a "real" hard drive and not the official PS2 one still let you use the harddrive as a memory card and all that, and not just for loading games on and off? Thats my only question.

I was wondering if some one can help me with my HD Loader problem. I have a Hitachi 200 GB drive and a PS2 that I bought when it first came to the U.S. The problem Im having is when I first tried to install my HD Loader it would go to the PS2 logo it would fade to black and go back to the browser. After 15-20 or more tries I finally got it to work and install some games. Now every time I Try to play a game off of HD Loader I would have to keep resetting it until It would work. I heard that it might be the lens, but I dont think it is because all my other games and discs load fine. I was wondering if anyone knew what to do?

It's not the lens. It's because you always get problems when you use a harddisk above 130 GB in your PS2.

The hd JUMPER must be on MASTER. Check the hard drive manual for where this setting is on your hd unit. The amount of space on the hard drive does not matter but the game system will only recognize 125g. I have a Maxtor 160 and it seems to work just fine.

Although Western Digital makes quality HD's, the PS2 Network Adapter isn't specified to fit onto a Western Digital. I suggest MAXTOR HD's, more reliable and a great fit. You will need to purchase HDLoader off the internet and will always need to have HDLoader in your disk drive to play any games that are downloaded onto your HDD. To play games online, you must have the official game disc loaded into the disc drive for SCEA licensing to recognize it and allow you to play, however any game that doesn't require you to play through SCEA you can play straight from your HDD.

to use hd without mod chip u have to buy a pressed copy of hdadvance or use something like a slide card

for copying from the old hdd to the new one look for disk cloning software. you can download a trial version of norton ghost from the symantec website which will do it.

connect both drives to your PC and boot off a ghost floppy and it will allow you to copy from one to the other and expand the partition to fill the extra space. (probably). might not work with the ps2 filesystem, but it's got to be worth a go. someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, andone have a cheap and cheerful way of getting myself set up with a hdd for my ps2?

i have a40gb maxtor drive spare, but what's the cheapest way of getting it all installed and working? do a have to have the network adapter or is there another way?

Also, does the european network adapter have the necessary connetions for the HDD to connect to?

thnx

For all those wanting to download HD Loader....use DC++! You can find anything off of DC++. It's the ultimate underground file sharing system. I was sharing 1 Petabyte! of gamez, progz, and mp3z the other day. 1 Petabyte = 10^15 bytes. 1 Terabyte = 10^12 bytes. 1 Gigabyte = 10^6...etc....

#71 - posted by Mass (63.147.25*.*)2004-12-27 21:42:55
No SATA must be a Maxtor IDE. WD drive power is to far inside for it to work. I almost sure all models are like that so avoid WD drives.

You must pay for HD loader/HD Advance because the disk needs to be stamped for PS2 read it if you running without a MOD chip. Which I assume everyone is running without or why mess with HDA.

I removed the back panel and find nothing, just an empty shaft, i'm ticked off at this point. Seems to me like either Sony forgot to install it on the assembly line, or somebody stole it, i have no idea. Mabye i have to buy my own hard drive thingy whatever u call it to slip into it, if so, then thats just more money outa my pocket, which is not happenin. Could anybody tell me why i'm missing my internal hard drive? cuz i'm panicing and could really use a strait up answer. thanks peace.

Yes HD Advance can work with a 40 Gb Drive, I am using a Maxtor 40 gig drive myself. Use this site to find what drives work with PS2.

You need the network adapter for the PS2 to use a Hard Drive.

WD = Western Digital, HD Advance kind of ripped off HD Loader, you cannot buy HD Loader anymore but can find HD Advance if you use google on a few sites. I am not able to copy memory card contents, not sure why I would even need to try.

Post #77 Are other Drives for Hitachi listed to work? If so I would guess that drive would work. I again say buy a Maxtor, you can get a 200 gb drive for 100 bucks... that is 50 cents a Gig. I think the max is 200 Gigs for PS2 to support, so anything below that will work.

#78 you could mount the drive first on a PC and then use winhiip to format it with the PFS (playstation file system) and copy your games that way. Saves one step which is nice. As in you would not need to format it in PS2 and then stick it back on the PC to copy the games.

#79 Yes, with HD Advance/Loader you can use "copied" games without any problems. Just need to tweak the modes on them and they are good to go. You could even make backups of friends PS2 games on your HD. How nice :)

#95 - posted by Mass (63.147.25*.*)2005-01-03 15:08:23
Post #86 - Yes it can format a HD. So can winhiip

Post #87 - if you read what I said before, you cannot use BURNT anything without a mod chip or swap magic.

#88 You are out of luck, go buy a old one.

#90 Read what I said about post #87

#94 if a HDD fits in the PS2 I am sure it works with both HDa and HDl. Again I say HDadvance is a ripped off HD loader.

#102 - posted by Mass (63.147.25*.*)2005-01-06 15:25:17
Post #99 If you read above your post (#98) he provides 2 sources. I would also assume emule would have it someplace. Again you would need a mod chip or swap magic for burnt media to work. If you had this I would think you would be smart enough to know where to get things...

Post #100 You can use your ISO files on the a PS2 HDD. You would have to connect the PS formated HDD to your PC as a slave drive and use the program winhiip to copy the ISO files to the drive. It is really simple just need winhiip (google it)

#101 - difference is 33? but joking aside, just spike bandwidth of 33mhz. In the end doesn't mean much when talking about PS2. 133 would be better, just not sure if the PS2 supports 133 interface or not. But either will work just fine.

#103 - posted by Mass (63.147.25*.*)2005-01-06 21:07:24

#107 - posted by Mass (63.147.25*.*)2005-01-10 15:31:32
for post 105# You need to check the jumper, it must be set to Master or in my case I have it set to CS (Cable Select) which works fine on my 200 gig Maxtor.

#106 I think if you read above it says you must have a Sony HDD to work with the new maps. So what you are trying to do will NOT work.

Also #104 That will not work. Go buy a Older one before it is to late!

Well im not sure but im guessing you would have to take the cover off ur PC and i dont know if the PC would make you format the drive because u wouldnt want to lose all your games. I think the best bet would be to get 1 of those IDE to usb adaptor cables from ebay for about $10 then you can just plug it into the usb port without having to take the cover off PC.

Put the adapter back together and you should be able to get any IDE drive to fit.

can you explain that a bit more clearly.... what corner are you talking about?

plzzz help

thank you.

Read above... it's a Noob thing to do. Read first ask question when and only when you need help.

But one last time.

1 - You need Network Adapter for the PS2 (only old models of PS2)
2 - A Drive that works with the Network Adapter (wow use this site) I would not mod my HD like a post says before, just get a Maxtor.
3 - You need to buy a stamped version of HD loader or HD Advance. You can find HD advance on a few sites. HD Loader is not made or sold anymore. They were sued from what I read and lost.
4 - if you have games you own and want to make a backup, use HDL/HDa and format the drive and convert the games over.
5 - if you have iso files of games you backed up on the PC you will need winhiip to copy them over. You make the PS2 drive a slave and winhiip can read the file system on the drive and copys the images over.
6 - Send me 100 dollars because of the time I saved you from reading.

Make sure the HDD whatever model is set to Master or CS (cable select) CS works with my maxtor and I have it set this way so I can move the drive from PS2 to PC with ease without messing with the stupid little jumper :)

I did not format my HDD with HDa, I used winhiip and then copied my backed up ISO with this util and then I was good to go.

If this doesn't help go to HDa site. I am not going to post that info because you need to look for it yourself.

Good luck.

I can highly recommend using Samsung harddisk drives! Fast, super lownoise and fits perfectly to the net adapter, and runs like a dream with HD Loader! I just tried both a 80MB 2MB 7200RPM, 120MB 2MB 7200RPM and 120MB 8MB 7200RPM and they all works splendid! (the 160GB works aswell, but you only get approx. 130MB space using HD Loader.. so stick to the 120MB and save a few bucks)

Diminion, the new slim ps2 is not compatible with a hdd of any sort. if you would like to use a hdd in a ps2 you must buy an older one, one of the fat ones and you must aslso buy a network adapter to connect your hdd to the ps2.

have been using hd loader since it came out have now switched to hd advance 2.0 with 200gb maxtor easy to install and use with no problems. used maxtor 120gb before. sony designed the new ps2 so we couldn't use these methods to play our games. see all kind of questions and problems with other brands of hdd's. if you want to be able to play your games without all of the whining you see here, i have complete sets of maxtor 200gb hdd new with sony ethernet adapter new and HDa 2.0 for sell on ebay under seller name gjbon. personally i wouldnt use anything but a maxtor as it has been trouble free, just my 120 got full and i needed more storage btw i was able to load 37 games on it

ok. HDLoader needs to be loaded to access the HDD (from what I understand)

Cheap hard drives:
www.outpost.com or www.newegg.com

Hard drive compatibility:
http://ps2drives.x-pec.com/

HDLoader Help:
http://www.hdloader.net/
as for looking if its possible to use the HDD for saving and other HDLoader questions

USB HDD Loader:
http://www.modchipstore.com/USB_eXtreme_External_USB_Hard_Drive_Loader_for_ALL_PS2_and_PSTwo-p-16241.html

Hope this helps a few of you. I'll try looking up more and see what else I can find

The ps2 harddrive is a Maxtor 2F0l040, got this from my bios on setup. Jumper settings can be found on the Maxtor web site

You can pay by paypal or send me a money order, or personel check. These are the original discs with case and manual complete. E-mail me and let me know if anyones interested!

hey, i think u can play a copied disc on a ps2 without the mod chip. The reason it cant play (i think) is because of the format of the disc, because when u put it in the ps2 it says that "Please Put in A Ps2 Format Disc of Ps1 Disc. If Anyone knows anything about this email me a djpunkazndavid@yahoo.com.

@ LeRoy

When you buy the adapter you should have recieved a Network Access Disc. You need broadband internet so it dosnt lag. If its an original game your sweet but if its burnt your going have to patch it and do all the DNAS stuff (all the info about DNAS can be found at ps2nfo.com).

Do you need some sort of software to intsall the harddrive onto the ps2? I have the network adapter, so if I buy just a harddrive without any CDs, can I install it just using the HD loader cd or do I need some sort of cd that comes with a new harddrive?
Thanks for your help

answers to previous posts
#323: remove the network adapter and plug your hard drive into it (set the drive jumper to master) and use hdloader, hdadvance, or many other methods. You could even use tools to preformat the drive before installing it into your playstation.

#322: The only requirements for installing a hard drive are 1)Playstation 2 console V1-V10 (thicker PS2 version) and 2)Network adapter. The hard drive connects to the network adapter and fits nicely into the playstation shell.

#318: For media playback, I've used PS2Reality (Works most of the time.), tested with XViD and DiVX movies. For MP3 playback, I cannot answer. As for compatibility, search google for "HDAdvance Compatibility" and you will surely find lists of games and how to get them working (if they will work at all).

#317: If you buy HDAdvance, you will have a bootable disc, meaning you do not require a modchip. However, if you wish to copy 'archived' games to the hard disk, you will require a modchip. My suggestion, get a modchip, DMS seems to release quality product, but any will do.

Now for my question: Has anyone taken a PS2 formatted drive (with games) and installed/configured into a gnu/linux PC? I am going to try to get it working, though would rather save effort if it's something simple or impossible. Thanks!

ok,ok, I have seen way too many times in this question form "do I need a mod chip?" "what does it do?" "how do i format it to work with PC/PS2"...ok...here's the answers. NO! you do NOT need a mod chip to use a third party HDD.
the HDD in conjunction with a programe such as HD advance allows you to save entire games onto the HD, not just game saves and SOCOM 2 maps.
ok, to format it to work with the PS2, you need to buy either the sony HDD utility, or one of the other third party programes, such as HDLoader or HD advance, these all have a formater built in that will format your hard drive in the playstation file format. NOW to format a PS2 hard drive for use with a PC. all you really need to do is hook up the HDD to your PC, either as the master or slave, the windows XP restore disk has a formater that will format ANY drive to either the FAT or NTSC file format, both work with PC's I WILL WARN YOU! FORMATTING A DRIVE TO WORK WITH A PC/PS2 WILL ERASE ALL DATA ON THE DRIVE!!!!!!!!!

now, one last thing I saw a lot, is NO! you cannot boot ANY HD loading programe using the memory card unless you have a modded PS2, if your PS2 is modded, there are several programes out there that will install a boot loader to your memory card, and will boot up when a spacific PSONE game is inserted.

ALSO! I personally get mt HD's from www.newegg.com they have the best prices and best shipping around, you need an IDE ultra ATA100 drive to work with the PS2, as most people have said, unless you are posative it will fit, do not gat a western digital HDD, for there are many models that do not fit.

LASTLY! you can buy HDLoader and HD advance from www.revolution-sales.com they are a USA based company that has very high ratings on quality and customer service along with price.

PS! NO! you cannot use ANY! game enhancing device (gameshark, action replay, code braeaker..ect) when booting the game from the HDD.

Hitnrun yes and no. you can make a folder and put game saves in it. you must, however load the save back onto a memory card to use it. therefore this is useful only for archiving purposes.

@ xerostate
the garage editor for gt3 works on data that is stored on the memory-card.
thus, installing a hard-drive (or running GT3 from it)
will have no effect on that.
you can even i.link the consoles together as usual
obviously that applys only for the older models ;-)

i put a Matrix Chip inside my ps2. then i purchased a HDLoader disc from online only to find out it didnt have any of the elf programs. like i knew what that program does. any how, i do not know what the heck i am doing at all.
i connected the hard drive to the network adapter and then installed it inside the ps2. on the back of the hard drive i switched it to master mode instead of slave mode. i inserted the HDLoader disc and then pressed reset. the unit reseted and then asked me to install a legitamate copy of a ps2 game. i thought when inserting the disc it would boot automatically which it didnt.
could someone please help me with my dilemna? i need to get this ps2 working and running before Xmas arrives or i will have to explain to my son why his father didnt get him the gift he wanted. you know all to well i do not wish to go through that scenario.

(saved game data is the most important...) 3 .......if so do i still need a mem card..as i dont have one at the moment and it would save me cash..? 4 can i play avi and divx content on it..cos i will buy a dvd player soon to play divx files i have (stargate atlantis...lol) so if it does i would save on buying that as well... and last but not least...5 ...i got a mp3 player..win xp recognises it without any divers just plug and a drive letter pops up...so can i use it on my ps2 slim v 13 with front usb ports..? and if so how,...and if now why...lol thats all for now ..ill be back in the next few days to see any replys...thank you all for any time you contribute.. p.s. i am quite advanced in pc knowledge..i can build them install software..back up karaoke games dvd, cd's all sorts..so i know my way around .. avg is the best antivirus around..next is avast 4.. and zone alarm is the best firewall..and there all free...need i say more..thanx...wj

Can you rip copied games on to your harddrive, if you downloaded them or use swap magic to play them?

I installed a maxtor 40GB (unformatted) got the DMS HDD explorer/installer tool (v1.31) burned the image to CD, Playstation says this is not a valid PS2 format disk. What am I doing wrong?

The HDD adaptor didn't come with an official disk... Any way to format the 40GB drive to PS2 whilst it's connected to my PC (ie. before I fit it into the PS2)?

#331 - posted by JuddMan (202.6.13*.*)2006-01-29 23:56:43
OMG! you can't load burned disc of any kind without either a modchip or swap magic. there is no magic bootable CD-R...
Look up WinHIIP for loading and formatting using PC. no non-sony HDD will show up in your browser without special Mod-Chip.
Look up uLaunchELF 3.41s if you want to copy savegames from your MC to your HDD and back, or if you want to FTP files to / from your HDD. If you have questions, the "Comments" thread is NOT the right place to ask... just read all the questions. how many people actually got an answer? look stuff up, people.

Okay all you noobs, to use a HDD with your ps2, you must have a "compatible "3inch IDE HDD", and a "Network Adaptor", and you must have the right software to format and install HDD, you can use "HD Advance" or "HD Loader". The benifits of having a HDD is that, you can covert an entire ps2 game to your ps2 HDD, even if its a backup game. Also...LOADING IS CUT IN HALF!, you just insert yout "HD Advance or HD Loader Disc and select which game you wonna play from a menu. BUT!!!, you cannot play HDD games online!, so if you have mates with alot of ps2 games, just steal them and convert them to your ps2 hard disc drive, then you can give ya mates games back!!!LOL!!!

I have an AT mother Board, and resently purchased a Seagate ST3160023A 8.01, 160 gig hard drive, ATA.
Now in the older days if you put an ATA hard disk on a AT mother board you were asking for trouble. That being in the back of my mind.
I have crashed Win 2000 pro, Win XP home, Win XP Pro, and now I cannot get back my 160 Gig, only 136 Gig. The older bios use to let you do a binary format of the hard disk, to regain the full disk.
Now the Bios tell you nothing except auto detect the disk.....
I don't want to Auto Detect the Tracks and Sectors, I want to Reformat them in Binary.....
May be it is the hard disk ATA mixed with AT mother Board....
What should I do now ?? Puzzled....
I'm thinking to turn to Linux an operating system that does not crash very much.... like Bill Gates first presentation of Windows XP and it crashed on TV....Funny too....

The hdd compatability has to do with the type of mod chip...
2 IOf The hdd does not fitnn open the expansion card,, take out the power connector for the hdd
cut the metal case so u can move the connector back and forth
addjust it to suite the hdd and fit it

3. use hdd to format always do a full format

4. dump the mod chip bios to the hdd,, copy the hdd loader to the hdd and hdd explorere,, copy the image files of the game u want to play,,
you can now take it out and rnu your games in an unmodified ps2

5, copy the hdd loader to a memcad, as well as a ps2 registered boot code,,
you can now play backups on an unfmodified ps2

6. do not email be asking any bull shi****
7. if your name is adam then dont even bothering emailing me

I have a maxtor hard drive 80GB and I have got it nearly full up with PS2 games. I have just purchased another maxtor 200GB hard drive so as to have more room for adding games but I wondered if you knew how I could transfer the games from the 80 GB drive to the new 200GB drive.

I was pointed to a website to download WinHIIP V1.7.6 in order to carry this out using my PC. I have tried downloading the software from the webpage but it does not open.... Can anyone advise where I can get a copy of WinHIIP 1.7.6 or show me where else I could get it.

My Computer is running Windows XP home and I have both CD and DVD writers, also I currently have 2 hard drives on my PC - both Seagate 200GB and 80GB I also have spare USB 2.0 ports that I can use....

I wondered what cables and/or additional equipment may be required to do the transfer also any additional software or changes that I need to make to my PC.

I would be eternally grateful if you could assist me with this (also my son would be so impressed if I could achieve this)

all the very best

tina.......

if u have an internal hard drive and either HD Advance or HD Loader then put in the Hd Loader or HD Advance disk into the ps2 start it up then it should come up with the HD Loader or HD Advance screen then it should come up with you must format your hard drive format it if you havent already done so at the begining put in the game disk you want convert it (it may take a while depending on game size) once its done and you've given it a name and make sure its saved onto the hard drive resatart the ps2 put the HD Loader or HD Advance go onto the hard drive bit again start the game and that should be that if it doesnt work sorry but i cant help you

I current have hdl 0.8c for booting and quite a lot of different version of winhiip, from 1.6.2 to 1.7.6 for transferring game images to Seagate 20GB HD (i have 3 Seagate with same model and size). The game format installation was success. But the hdl said there was no partition and need to format nearly EVERYTIME!
Somehow i managed to scan & repair with different versions of winhiip,
and it was fixed from 1 out of 10 times.
I had used hdl for quite a long time. But in the past 12 months, I had this annoying problem, i hope someone could help me.

One Thing I have to say GO SEARCH ON GOOGLE!!! You Will find many information on forum posts, and many other sites that tell you how and what you need to make them work. I would not recommend Slim PS2 since it doesnt have all the hardware/software that the bulky PS2 has (meaning that the slim has less functionalities than the bulky).

Hi,
I have a maxtor 40gb hdd being an external usb hdd, network adaptor, a laptop, hdloader cd.
Originally I had formatted my hdd in my pc. I transfer the said hdd to my network adaptor. Hdloader message say " hdd needs to be formatted by the hdloader".
I had formatted it with the hdloader and its successful. Since I do need to download some games in the internet I transfer the formatted hdd to my pc, I checked at he My computer and cant find the drive previously indicated as drive E:

What intention and desire is to download games from pc to hdloader formatted hdd (which I will connect back to pc any time I need some games update). Please help or any suggestion to ease our desire.

thanks

Has anyone tried to install a 2.5'' SATA HDD into a fat PS2? I've got spare one with far more capacity than the HDD in the console (250GB Vs. 80GB). Besides, now SATA drivers have become the standard thereby the new SATA HDDs are more reliable, quiet, energy-saving (specially the 2.5'' ones). I've found every component which in theory is needed, rather cheap, by the way, but I'm not sure whether it'll enough space to add these components (the 2.5'' thinner and shorter than the 3,5'' one), and I don't know if the SATA to IDE adaptor will work without an appropriate driver in the PS2.

It could be something as simple as the screws in the adapter not completely tightened. Also HDD are rendered useless when exposed to static electricity. So if you grabbed it while charged you may have destroyed it. Hope this info helps

Hi all, I am trying to mod my Network adapter to fit a WD and when I get to this step

"After removing the two screws on the IDE connector board, you can move the IDE connector as far as possible to the right until it touches the metal flip. You have to lift the connector plate somewhat for it rest on the plastic stem.

Do the same for the molex connector, but on the left side there isn't much room to move it and you don't have to move it over the plastic stem. Don't remove any screws on the molex connector board."

My screws are not phillips!

The screws holding the IDE connector board and the molex connector are some kind of star pattern. I tried every star tool I have and I can't find one that will work. Does anyone know what I need to get to remove these screws?

Sony must have changed them so people won't modify the network adapter! What a bunch of A Holes!!!

@ritesh: As far as I know, the newer PS2 models, 9xxxxx series do not work with the boot stuff. You would have to mod it with a chip. One exception is the first run of the 9xxxx series with an older bios. But for the most part any PS2 made in mid to late 2008 or newer won't work.
