The original HDLoader (which doesn't support 48-bit LBA) detects the size of my my drive as 127GB.
The 48-bit LBA version of HDLoader detects the size of my drive as 189GB.

Where did you get the 48bit lba version of hdloader, and how can one tell if it's the 48lba version.

you can edit the ps2atad.irx to be 48-bit but the hdloader itself needs to be 48-bit compatible to recognize it

also I read that the HD Advance 2.0 supports 200 GB drives. Costs $30.
